Dundee Bay

from $180.00

This piece was selected as a Contest finalist AOC, California 2025

Behind the Camera: “After the Storm”

I took this photo on a cold winter afternoon along the coast, just after a powerful storm had passed. The ocean was still roaring, the air crisp with salt and silence. I was walking the shoreline when I noticed these two figures silhouetted against the golden reflection of retreating waves — their presence tiny, yet grounding, against the scale of the sea.

The scene felt cinematic: dramatic light, vast solitude, and a hint of connection. I switched to sepia tones in post to emphasize the timeless emotion of the moment — a reminder that even in nature’s rawness, there is stillness and companionship.

Shot handheld with a telephoto lens, this image captures one of those quiet scenes that speak louder than words.
