Behind the Camera – DC-3 & Northern Lights
This was one of those moments I had imagined long before arriving in Iceland — the legendary DC-3 wreck, silent in the black sands, with the Arctic sky setting the scene. But getting here wasn’t simple. It took a long, freezing walk in the dark, with no one else around, only the sound of the wind and my own breath.
I waited for hours, hoping the northern lights would show up. Just as I was about to leave, a soft green glow began to stretch across the horizon. I set up quickly, adjusted for long exposure, and kept everything as still as possible. The plane, ghostly and battered, stood in quiet contrast to the ethereal movement in the sky. It was raw, surreal, and unforgettable. Moments like these remind me why I carry my camera into the wild — to catch silence turning into poetry.
