Cherryfire is a study in contrast, structure, and color. Selected for Alameda on Camera 2026, California, this photograph focuses on the relationship between delicate blossoms and bold red foliage, transforming a flowering tree into a layered visual composition. The branches cross and spread across the frame like lines in a drawing, while the blossoms soften the image with texture and lightness.

By removing the original sky, I simplified the background to eliminate distraction and bring full attention to the natural forms themselves. This choice gives the photograph a cleaner, more contemporary feel, allowing the colors and shapes to stand on their own. The result is an image that feels both vibrant and refined — a close look at spring growth presented in a more graphic and intentional way.
