It was a Sunday in San Francisco Bay Area. I was walking with my camera, looking for something special to photograph for the AOC 2025 California contest. Near a school, I came across this crane, still and silent, set against a glowing sky.
My partner looked at it and asked, “Why a crane? Where do you see the beauty?”
For me, it was in the simplicity — the lines, the symmetry, the contrast. The scene felt like a quiet meditation on structure and purpose.
I framed the shot to highlight the balance between the rigid metal and the soft light. That moment, almost overlooked, became one of the images chosen for the AOC 2025 showcase.
