Behind the Camera - Golden Bird
I took this photo on one of those foggy San Francisco days when the Golden Gate Bridge almost disappears in front of you.
What I liked about the scene was how quiet everything felt. The bridge was still there, but the fog softened the towers, the cables, the hills, and the water until the whole view became more about atmosphere than structure.
I’ve photographed the Golden Gate Bridge many times, but this moment felt different. It was not the classic bright view of San Francisco. It was slower, softer, and more mysterious — the kind of scene that only lasts a few minutes before the fog changes again.
For me, Golden Gate in the Mist is about that temporary calm the Bay Area sometimes gives you when the fog takes over. The warm tones, vertical composition, and low-contrast mood make this piece ideal for anyone looking for San Francisco wall art, Golden Gate Bridge photography, or a calm Bay Area fine art print with a strong sense of place.
