Growing up

from $170.00

Behind the Camera – “Painted by Fire and Snow”

After a steep, sandy climb, I reached the top just as the clouds parted and soft light illuminated the volcanic soil below. What I saw was surreal — a patterned canvas of black, red, and ochre hills dotted with snow patches and green pines, like brushstrokes from nature’s palette.

I framed the shot to capture the rhythm of the rolling terrain and the striking contrast between warm earth tones and the lingering snow. There was a haunting stillness up there — no wind, no noise — just me, the crater’s edge, and a view that looked like another planet.

This is one of those places that reminds you how powerful and unpredictable the forces of nature truly are.
