Temple of the Moon and Sun
Behind the Camera - Temple of the Sun and Moon
Temple of the Moon and the Sun was one of those days where the journey mattered as much as the photograph. I drove more than six hours on muddy off-road tracks, the kind that force you to slow down and trust the 4x4, especially right after a heavy rain. By the time I reached Cathedral Valley, the clouds had started to clear and the entire landscape felt untouched—quiet, raw, and completely ours. Standing in front of these massive monoliths with no one else around was surreal. The scale, the silence, and the feeling of isolation made the whole day worth it. This image captures that moment when the storm had passed, the light softened, and the Temple of the Moon and the Temple of the Sun rose out of the desert like ancient guardians.
